About Us
Digambarpur Angikar is a non-profit, non religious, non-government development organisation striving for improving the lives and livelihood of people live under the vicious cycle of poverty and extreme backwardness in Sundarban region West Bengal, India. The entire Sundarban region is natural calamity prone. The organisation was originally established in 1979 by a group of dedicated social activities of Sundarban region with a view to undertake relief and rehabilitation within the area. The organisation has grown significantly since, spreading its areas of activities at Patharpratima, Namkhana, Kakdwip, Mathurapur I and Canning blocks in South 24 Parganas district.
Vision
Our vision is to achieve a value oriented sustainable society and based on social orientation, economic growth, local capacity building and empowerment of people for a complete society transformation. Our organization believes in sustainable development programmes with active people’s participation in all the process and programmes of development.
Mission
Our mission is to aware the rural people about their health, education, environment and basic rights, assist them to recognize and improve their potentiality through skill development, knowledge sharing and sensitization of all stake holders and guide them to economically and socially sustainable.

General Body

It is the platform for adapting major policies, electing executive body and decision making on larger sectors of development action, represented by active members from down to top involved with the organization. The governing body members generally meet once a year in the annual general meeting and elect the governing body members, approve the appointment of auditor, approve the financial reports, annual report and budget for the next financial year etc.
