Sundarban is one of the most threatened geographical region on Climate Change. The mangroves are reducings, cyclones occurs in every alternative years, inundation of saline water in the habitants by breaches river embankments and thereby people losts assets, livelihoods and also displaced. Farmers have been adopted commercial agriculture systems by rampant use chemicals fertilizers, chemical pesticides, HYV seeds and use of ground water for irrigation.
To combat such adverse situation, Digambarpur Angikar promotes Climate Change adaptation practices by plantation of trees, protection of mangroves, building awareness among community people and school students, introducing climate resilient agriculture, natural farming practices including revival of traditional varieties of seeds in farming, rain water conservations by the excavation and re-excavation of farm ponds, use of solar pumps, etc.

Disaster Risk Reduction:
Digambarpur Angikar responds rescue, relief and long-term disaster response operations in effected communities. Mostly all operational villages have formed Community Based Disaster Mitigation Team (DMTs) by involving local youths, old aged people, women and few school children. They have been capacitated on early warning systems, rescue and care in nearest flood cum cyclone centres. All the DMTs have been formed a whatsapp group where block disaster mitigation officer is the conveynor. They will also lonked with block level and district level IAG teams.
